Greetings in the name of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. I hope this information finds you in great joy and the peace that comes from God our Father. Rejoice with me brethren for what God is doing in this part of the world through your effort and great support. The gospel here is moving in a speed we weren't expecting, spreading like fire in a dry grass. I say this so that your joy may be full and that you may be encouraged and comforted, "----by the comfort with which we here are comforted by God--2Cor.1:5". This is after witnessing a tremendous success in our recent gospel tour which saw us spending the whole of last week in western Kenya, visiting Kisii, Kuria, Miregi and Tanzania. God is truly holding the whirlwind of opposition and maintaining an open door before us. On arriving in Kuria, we were met by our coordinator there, Mr. Evans Ondasi, a devoted and zealous brother who, though very new in the faith, is working hard in spreading the gospel through our literature. We immediately left Kuria, that same day to meet a new group, some 26 kilometers away where we arrived towards evening, in that place called Miregi. On arrival, six adults plus children were waiting for us. This people were Sunday keepers who are tired of listening to nothing from their pastor. When their pastor heard of our coming, he also came, ready to oppose and so retain his followers. After introduction, we began with a question and answer kind of bible study which took us up to around midnight. In the discussion, we were showing them how the gospel we are preaching is totally different from the one they know, and how they can only choose from the two but not blend them. This is because many do say, "as long as we are following the same Christ and reading from the bible, we are one". So, after a long discussion period, the pastor realized that what we are preaching is totally biblical and in despair, he asked, "do you mean to say that, if I accept Christ and refrain from sin but don’t keep the law, I will not enter the kingdom?" God did use this question to inspire us with the message we were to preach the following day. We asked him, "What is sin?" The following day, at around 10 am, we regathered and began our teaching, expounding on that topic, i.e, "What is sin". After showing them how the law of God is His life and how this life is the one He created us to live by, they understood that, breaking the law is the same as breaking our lives which is actually, killing ourselves, a reason why it is called sin--1 John 3:4. They were deeply convicted and believed the gospel. The pastor was also left without any doubt about it and so, he requested for our literatures which we gave. This saw the crumbling of that Sunday group and the beginning of a new Church of god congregation! At this point, we remembered what our Lord promises, saying, "I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight, I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut asunder the bars of iron-Isa 45:2" At around 3 pm, we departed back to Kuria where we spent the night. In the morning the following day, we had a Bible study with the Kuria brethren. In the afternoon, we did some counseling and went into baptisms which saw 5 more people being added to the Church. From there we went via Migori town, where we made a stop at a cyber to communicate with brother Leslie, to Rose's where we met the Migori congregation. After fellowship for some hours, we went back and had the night at Migori town. The following day saw us moving on to Tanzania, where a new group had called for a visit. Unfortunately, when we arrived there, we found a burial preparation in the neighborhood which everyone in the village is obliged to attend. We consoled them and after issuing them with literatures, we left, promising to return at a more convenient time. We traveled back to Kenya and arrived at Kisii, going straight to Mokoro's place where we kept the Sabbath with the brethren. We had a message titled "Who are we fighting against?" After digging deeply into the meaning of "Our fight is not against flesh and blood", we saw how brothers should not, blame, oppose, or grumble against one another, seeing that our enemy in this Christian life is not human beings but evil spirits-Eph 6:12. After the sabbath we fellowshipped deep into the night, sleeping at 1 am. In the morning, after sharing some breakfast, I bade them bye and returned to Nairobi, concluding the tour. Brethren, this is what God is doing through the work which you are now supporting with your admirable commitment.
Its my hope that this report give you more strength to continue preaching until we finish the work. May the gracious love of God abide with all of you. The brethren say hello and also appreciate your love. Yours in Christ service, James Mutulu
