'Oneness' of God

Local Information

Our mission here on the internet is to help those who are called by God to learn and hold to the truth that has been given to us by God through Jesus Christ, the prophets, and apostles.

Who We Are

We are a Sabbath-observing congregation holding to the traditional ‘Faith Once Delivered’ to the Early New Testament Church.

The Christian Church of God, Grand Junction, Colorado is an independent New Testament congregation, extending a right hand of fellowship to all believers who genuinely seek to follow the commandments of God and who strive to develop the character of the living Christ, imitating His righteous example. Being independent allows each of us to develop and exercise his or her God-given talents and to interface freely with those who share our beliefs.

The Congregation meets each Sabbath (Saturday) at 11:00 am in Grand Junction , its regular location being: 3198 E Road (at the intersection of 32 Road and E Road, see map, below.)

The Congregation sponsors the “Born to Win” broadcast with Ronald L. Dart, on local radio stations each Sunday morning, in Grand Junction, Montrose, and Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

The Congregation provides weekly sermon CDs to a number of recipients not able to attend locally due to health or distance considerations, presented by its five regular speakers. Request sermon CDs below.

A newsletter, “Echoes of the Word”, is distributed each quarter. Request newsletter below.

The Congregation sponsors a local Feast of Tabernacles each fall, with speakers and attendees from a variety of affiliations. See our Feast Page.

We host a monthly Bible Study the second Tuesday of each month.

Numerous articles and booklets on a wide range of doctrinal and Christian living topics, written by a number of individuals and organizations are available, free of charge.

Utilizing internet web sites, email, and surface mail, we proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. We maintain correspondence with, and provide financial and literature support to a widening field of recipients through a U.S. based support organization, most recently, Sabbath keeping believers in Africa.

In addition:

1. We are nondenominational by choice:
Although we hold no animosity toward any sincere Christian denomination we have found that the iron walls of denominational dogmatism often become impenetrable to the truths of God which form the basis of the Church Jesus Christ founded.

2. We are not aligned with any religious or secular organization, yet we seek opportunity to associate with those which exhibit fruits of God’s Spirit.

3. We are independent of controlling organizations in keeping with Christ’s words in Mark 10:42– 45 and Luke 22:25-27.

[Mar 10:42  But Jesus called them to Himself and said to them, "You know that those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. :43  Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. :44  And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. :45  For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Luk 22:25  And He said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called 'benefactors.' :26  But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves. :27  For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves.]

We receive no controlling support, in part or in whole, by any group, individual or organization. All financial support comes from unsolicited freewill offerings of individual Christians.

4. We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired word of God:
That, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Tim 3:16). We understand that Paul was referring in large part to the Old Testament, which existed in his time and that the New Testament is built on the truths found in the Old Testament which were written for our edification. (Rom 15:4)  We recognize the entire canon, New Testament and Old, to be a unified whole and that the Old Testament is essential to fully understanding the New Testament.

5. We recognize that the “Great Commission” involves evangelization, teaching those who respond to God’s call, and preparing those people to themselves ‘go into all the world’.

6. We recognize God’s grace to be the essential element in our redemption, but not as an exemption to lawful righteousness. We are justified by His death, but saved by His life.  (Romans 5:10)

7. We appreciate and keep the seven annual holydays  found in both Testaments, and recognize the overall plan of God evident in their meaning, looking forward to the world ruling millennial kingdom as described in Zechariah chapter 14, and as alluded to in Matthew 19: 28 and Revelation 5:10.

The Truths We Hold
We believe:
In the resurrection of all mankind, some to eternal life, however others will suffer the second death from which there is no resurrection (Rev 20:5-6, 12-15)  (John 5:28-29).

Salvation has been made available to all mankind through Jesus Christ as a personal choice, and is not limited to any one group, organization or denomination (Acts 13:47
; Isa 9:2).

Your salvation is between you and Jesus Christ and can be ratified only by you (Phil 2:12
).

No one can come between you and God unless you allow it (John 10 29;Heb 8:1).

If you confess from your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead, and has paid your death penalty you shall be saved (Rom 10:9-10)  (Rom. 5:10)
.

Baptism is a considered decision by the individual; therefore it can't be accomplished by proxy or as an infant. It represents the death of the old man and a commitment to let Jesus Christ live in you.  (Rom. 6:4, 2nd Cor. 4:10-11, Gal. 2:20)

Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of our salvation; there is no other name by which man can be saved (Acts 4:12; Heb 8:1).

All are invited to come boldly to the throne of God in time of need, through our High Priest Jesus Christ, going through no one else, living or dead (Heb 4:16,  John 14:6).

All people who have been baptized in Christ have put on Christ and are Abraham's seed and are therefore heirs to the promises given to him; there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for we are all one in Christ Jesus (Acts 15:9; Gal 3:28; Eph 3:6).

Salvation is by grace and not of works, but we are created unto good works which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.  (Eph 2:8-10; Rom 6:10
; Jn. 2:20).

The law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good (Rom 7:12
).

Christ did not come to destroy the law (Mat. 5:17
) rather; He magnified the law and made it honorable (Is 42:21).

It is not possible to know God if we ignore or disrespect God's law (1Jn 2:3-4).

There is only one God (not many) and only one mediator (not many) between man and God, the man Jesus Christ (1 Tim 2:5; Mk 12 29).

How one speaks of God's law reveals whom they serve. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" (Isa 8:20).

Our mission is to teach observance of all things commanded by Jesus and baptize in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit (Mat 28:19-20).

Christ is the same today as He was historically and will be in the future, he will never change (Heb 13:8; Mal 3:6).

Like Paul, we are to follow Christ; He is our guide, and our perfect example (1Cor 11:1; 1Pet 2:21; 1Jn 2:6). How could we think to improve on His set (holy)  times and established laws (Dan 7:25
)? Therefore we observe the days He set apart and sanctified, as did the Apostles.

God's word is sacred and is not to be added to, changed, deleted or diminished by any entity claiming authority be it man, church or even an angel (De 4:2; De 12:32; Pro 30:6; Rev 22:19).

Truth is found in the scriptures and not from traditions of man (Acts 17:11; John 17:17
).

Traditions should never conflict with Gods word (Mk 7:8; Col 2;8).

Concern for the needy and keeping oneself unspotted from the world is pure religion (Jas 1:27
).

The greatest gift is love (1Cor 13; Jn 13:34), the greatest commandment is to love God and love your neighbor (Mk 12:30-31), which is a summary of the 10 commandments.

Statement of Beliefs

Place Holder

Although we are not affiliated to any of the organizations listed below, we recognize that God's truth is revealed according to His will to those that seek Him and not to any single entity exclusively.

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. - Philippians 2:12-13
